Presentation of the association

VKII in conference

The “Cameroonian association of engineers and computer scientists” (VKII -German contracted denomination) is a non-profit association duly registered in Germany. Founded in the year 2000 in the dynamic city of Frankfurt am Main, this initiative stemmed from the drive of an ever-growing number of Cameroonian students whose academic ambitions are directed towards the fields of engineering and computer science.

At the core of its creation, VKII has set the primary objective of improving the living and studying conditions of these foreign students in German universities. Since its inception, the educational landscape has undergone a significant transformation, marked by an exponential increase in the number of Cameroonian and African graduates. This evolution has also fostered the emergence of a valuable dynamics of professional networking within the association.

VKII is proud to represent the largest number of African students and experts, not only in Germany but across the entire European continent. Its fundamental missions are as follows:

– To foster the aspiration for success in a society where competition is omnipresent.
– To improve the living conditions and facilitate the (re)integration of Cameroonians and Africans both in their home country and in their host country.
– To identify issues in the technical and computer science fields while providing innovative solutions thanks to the expertise of its members, for the benefit of the Cameroonian and African community, both within Cameroon and beyond its borders.
– To implement technology transfer projects to Cameroon and other African countries, with initiatives already established in Ghana, Uganda, and Ethiopia.

In order to ensure effective knowledge transfer, VKII experts collaborate with various institutions, universities, and training schools, organizing symposiums and workshops aimed at this purpose.

VKII also promotes and supports projects led by Cameroonian and African experts in the fields of computer science and engineering sciences, aiming to promote sustainable development for sub-Saharan Africa in general and Cameroon in particular.

As an umbrella association, VKII e.V. currently brings together five active district associations in seven federal states in Germany, as well as two circles at the international level (in France and Cameroon). It is firmly committed to promoting education, vocational training, and development policies while fostering economic and knowledge exchanges between Europe and Africa.

Our interventions also play a crucial role in facilitating the energy transition, digital transformation, and the integration of digitalization into everyday life. Furthermore, VKII e.V. aspires to be a platform for exchanging ideas, experiences, and innovative know-how, bringing together members from diverse backgrounds under the inspiring motto: “Together, great things come to life; let’s build them together!”
